Everything Austen Book Challenge

everythingausten2

So I’ve caved. After seeing it everywhere I must join. I love Jane Austen, and I was unaware of all of the Austenesque new books and movies out there. The basics of this challenge is as follows; pick 6 Austen-themed books or movies to read over the next six months.  Pretty straightforward and simple. So this is my list:

1. Austenland by Shannon Hale
2. Pride and Predjudice Movie BBC Version
3. Pride and Prejudice Movie 2005 Version
4. Emma by Jane Austen
5. Emma Movie
6. Against my better judgement and for something a bit different Pride and Prejudice and Zombies ~cringe~ There must be some reason why it continues to top the NY Times Bestsellers List.

Hopefully I am not tied in with these selections…I and postitive about the first 5, but the last one I really have to talk myself into.

Good Luck to all participating!!

  1. Jenn, Thanks so much for joining my challenge. I’m not sure why Mr. Linky was giving you such a hard time, but I was able to add your link myself, so you are all set up!!

  2. Awesome. Mr. Linky was not being cooperative yesterday. I just found out that Emma, Sense and Sensibility, The Jane Austen Book Club and Mansfield Park are all on my On Demand Cable thingy. I have only seen Sense and Sensibility, but it was a while ago.

I might be adding some extra movies to my list. I was glad to see that you will be reading Pride and Prejudice and Zombies as well! I swore I was in no need for “ultraviolent zombie mayhem”, but something made me curious. I’m interested to see what you think as well!
